The Best 401k was founded in 1996 by CEO, Thomas K. McNeill. With over 30 years experience in the Financial Service Industry, Mr. McNeill began this venture in 1983 with the creation of Allaire Financial Services, now known as Asset Management Services Group. As Retirement Plans became more 401k driven, Mr. McNeill’s clients asked for his help in driving their plans and participants to the cutting edge market trends.

When working with his clients, Mr. McNeill found what he felt were fundamental flaws with the 401k providers. He saw that the providers’ financial interests were not aligned with the financial interests of their participants. This was the primary factor for creating a company that would serve both interests. After much research and careful planning, The Best 401k was born to be a fiercely independent 401k plan for the small business owner to grow their retirement nest egg, free of investment constraints and overpriced, underperforming retirement accounts.
